About Me!

Hi! My name is Julia Kaminski, and I graduated from Samford University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. I'm originally from Alpharetta, Georgia, and now live in Birmingham, Alabama.

I've always loved being creative, and graphic design has given me a way to turn that passion into a career. Some of my favorite areas of design are branding, logo design, and creating strong visual identities. I love the process of taking an idea and bringing it to life through thoughtful design. I enjoy collaborating with other designers and hearing different perspectives, but I'm also someone who loves putting on my headphones and diving into a project on my own.

When I'm not designing, you'll probably find me sewing. During college, I taught myself how to sew, and it quickly became one of my biggest passions. What started with making tote bags turned into designing and creating custom dresses, jackets, bags, and accessories. I love giving old quilts and fabrics a new life and creating pieces that are one of a kind.

Today, I run my handmade clothing brand, Heart Strings, where I get to combine my love for graphic design and fiber arts. Building my own brand has been such a rewarding experience because it allows me to use both my design skills and my creativity every day.

Whether I'm creating a brand identity or sewing a custom piece, I love making things that feel thoughtful, unique, and personal. I'm always excited to learn new skills, take on creative challenges, and continue growing as a designer.
